Both BOTOX and Dysport are a form of botulinum type A and they are both designed to relax the facial muscles that cause fine lines and wrinkles - such as crow's feet around the eyes and frown lines. However, there are two main differences:
Dysport has a tendency to spread to a larger area once injected. This can be beneficial if you want to target a large treatment area.
In general, this means that you will require more units of Dysport when compared to BOTOX.
During your initial consultation, Dr. Lyos will discuss your health history, allergic information and cosmetic goals to help you determine which medication - BOTOX or Dysport - is right for you.
Both Dysport and BOTOX offer a wide range of benefits to our patients, including:
Your appointment for BOTOX or Dysport injections will be done in the privacy of our Houston office. While you are seated in a comfortable treatment chair, Dr. Lyos will ask you to make certain facial expressions so that he can mark the target areas.
You will not require any anesthesia, though some patients request a cold compress to numb the area. Administering the injections will take about ten minutes, at which point you will be free to return to work and your normal daily routine.
Dr. Lyos will artfully place your incisions to ensure results that are natural. The goal is to subtly refresh your appearance, while preserving your ability to move your face and express yourself with ease.
In general, you can expect the results of your BOTOX and Dysport injections to last about four months. At that point, you will require an additional treatment to maintain your results.
It may seem like BOTOX and Dysport injections are available everywhere - but not all providers are created equal. Poorly done injections look frozen, artificial and can distort your appearance until they wear off.
Dr. Lyos is triple board-certified in otolaryngology, plastic surgery and facial plastic surgery. He has an unparalleled understanding of facial aesthetics and knows precisely how to sculpt a naturally youthful appearance - with or without surgery.
