Ultherapy Houston

What is Ultherapy?
Ultherapy is an innovative ultrasound treatment to help reverse the effects of the aging face. This ultrasound treatment, which was recently approved by the FDA, uses the body’s own regenerative response to help restore memory to the skin and underlying tissue. Over the years, gravity works against the face, causing drooping and sagging, which can now be effectively treated by Ultherapy. In just 1-2 hours of treatments, Ultherapy is able to help the skin to reproduce collagen.

How does Ultherapy Work?
Ultherapy works by allowing the doctor to visualize the tissue beneath the skin with a specially designed hand piece. Utilizing this deep visualization, the doctor is able to deleiver ultrasound energy to a precise area needing treatment. Ultherapy encourages the natural production of collagen, which allows the skin to appear firmer and more elastic. By utilizing such a precise instrument, Ultherapy provides a safe treatment, leaving the skin above the treated tissue unharmed.

Who is a good candidate for Ultherapy?
If a patient’s skin has begun looking less firm than they desire, they may be a great candidate for Ultherapy. Sagging skin around the eyelids, a lowered brow line, and general sagging are early indicators of aging skin, which may benefit from Ultherapy treatments. Contact Dr. Lyos today to learn if Ultherapy is the right treatment for you.

Is there any downtime?
Because of the innovative technology utilized with Ultherapy, there is no downtime. Patients are able to return to normal activities directly after recieving treatment, with only minimal redness that usually disappears within hours.

Is Ultherapy safe?
Ultrasound energy has been used in the field of medicine for over 50 years, and clinical trials have demonstrated the safety of this latest application. As with any medical procedure, the safety and outcome are highly dependent upon the experience and the credentials of the person providing the treatment.

What kind of results can I expect?
Since Ultherapy works to help your body produce collage, the full effects are seen gradually over time. Usually within 2 to 3 months the full effects are seen. In an FDA clinical trial, nine out of ten patients had a noticeable, significant lift of the brow line. This resulted in reduced skin laxity on the eyelid, and a more open, youthful look to the eye overall. Patients reported firmer, tighter, better-fitting skin in the other areas of the face and neck as well.
