What is Coolsculpting?
Rapidly growing in popularity following its approval by the FDA in 2010, CoolSculpting has quickly become one of the top treatments for non-invasive fat reduction. The technology was developed when Harvard researchers noticed that children who sucked popsicles on a regular basis would develop thinner cheeks or dimples as a result of the cold killing fat cells in the cheek. MD Aesthetica is one of the top providers of the therapy in Houston and The Woodlands both in terms of volume and results.
CoolSculpting can help both women and men target specific stubborn bulges with as little as 1 to 2 treatments over the area. When you schedule a consultation, one of our highly trained staff will review with you your specific areas of concern and goals and will use our body templates to create a bespoke custom treatment plan. There are 5 different applicators based on where the fat is on the body. When the treatment is scheduled, one or two applicators will be placed at a time with most areas taking only 35 minutes per applicator and larger ones 60 minutes until the treatment plan is fulfilled. During this time, the applicators will kill fat cells via a process called Cyrolipolysis.
Cyrolipolysis is the process by which the applicators cause controlled cooling down to near 4° Celsius (approx. 39° Fahrenheit) to non-invasively reshape body contours killing up to 20% of fat cells in the area. CoolSculpting is most commonly used to treat areas such as abdomen (Muffin Top), flanks (Love Handles), upper back (Bra Rolls), lower back, arms, double chin and male breasts. MD Aesthetica has the most advanced applicators available which are CoolAdvantage and four machines making us one of the largest Coolsculpting providers in Texas. We’ve done hundreds of CoolSculpting procedures in the years since the device was introduced. MD Aesthetica is an official CoolSculpting Certified Practice, and our providers have a deep understanding of the procedure to give you the best results possible.
Since humans stop creating new fat cells after teenage years, the killed fat cells will not regenerate although it is critical to maintain a healthy diet and lifestyle to keep the pounds off which MD Aesthetica would be more than happy to assist via our dietary and supplemental wellness programs which are fully integratable. CoolSculpting can be a fantastic addition to any aesthetic care plan created at our clinic. Call 713-799-0000 to schedule a commentary consultation; together we’ll create an aesthetic and/or wellness plan and map out how to reach your health and wellness goals.

Coolsculpting before and after pictures*
Clinical research demonstrates CoolSculpting visibly reduces fat on the vast majority of its patients.¹* One study, published in the Journal of Lasers in Surgery and Medicine, made visual assessments of volume changes in body fat of Cryolipolysis patients using Cool Sculpting before and after pictures. They concluded that Cryolipolysis with CoolSculpting “is a safe, well-tolerated, and effective noninvasive fat removal methodology that on average leads to 39.6 cc of fat loss of the treated flank at 2 months after a single treatment cycle.”*
Coolsculpting reviews from popular media:
With its growing popularity, as dozens of celebrities credit CoolSculpting for their picture perfect bodies and impressive CoolSculpting before and after pictures flood the internet, mainstream media investigates if CoolSculpting really reduces fat the way it claims. Here are a few CoolSculpting reviews from renowned news outlets.
Allure Magazine is “marveling over the idea of noninvasive liposuction” accrediting Cool Sculpting as “the first FDA-approved noninvasive fat-removal treatment.” CoolSculpting reviews from Elle Magazine calls Cool Sculpting a “non -invasive way to fight a stubborn belly bulge, love handles, or flabby upper arms…”concluding “the fat-freezing technology…is incredibly effective.” Men’s Fitness reviews CoolSculpting saying it “help[s] you lose fat in areas that you haven’t been able to hit through diet and exercise.”
Am I a good candidate for CoolSculpting treatments?
Although many people make great candidates for this innovative procedure, it is important to keep in mind that it is not appropriate for an all over, large-volume weight loss. Instead, the best candidates for CoolSculpting are patients who are within 30 pounds of their ideal weight and are bothered by localized areas of excess fat. CoolSculpting can reduce the size of these bulges for a sleeker, more streamlined physique. Many exceptions of course exist however with areas such as the neck or arms being treatable.
What happens to the fat once it’s been frozen?
Once CoolSculpting freezes the fat cells, the cells break down and eventually die off in a natural process called apoptosis. The remnants of the destroyed fat cells are naturally flushed out of the body by the kidneys. This is why the results of a treatment develop gradually over the course of a few months as the body naturally removes the fat cells.. Many patients appreciate the discreet nature of this gradual process.
How long will my results last?
Although the destroyed fat cells will never come back, your remaining fat cells can still enlarge, leading to weight gain. With that being said, it is important to maintain a healthy lifestyle after CoolSculpting treatments by eating a healthy diet and exercising. By keeping a steady weight, the results of your CoolSculpting treatment may last indefinitely. If would like help achieving this, MD Aesthetica offers wellness and lifestyle help so let us know!
Can CoolSculpting treat the fat causing my double chin?
Yes, the FDA recently cleared a new CoolSculpting applicator called the CoolMini which is specifically designed for small areas of fat such as a double chin, the armpits, and the knees. CoolMini uses the same cryolipolisis “freeze the fat” technology, with the same results (approximately a 20-30% reduction in fat on average after one treatment).
How long does it take?
Now with the new CoolAdvantage applicators, we can now treat in just 35 minutes! Plus get 4x faster treatment when using more than one machine at once.
How much downtime can I expect?
Most people do not experience any downtime. The typical patient is able to resume normal routine immediately the same day, immediately after treatment.
