A more defined jaw, a lifted brow, a more slender neck, and a smoother, more even-toned décolletage give you a younger and refreshed appearance. As we age, gravity causes our collagen to break down causing a host of issues: the brow begins to descend causing eyes to appear smaller. Crow’s feet lines begin to appear and the skin under the the eyes begins to thin and face laxity issues giving off the appearance of being tired. As the collagen breaks down in the lower face, the loss of support causes the fat pads in the cheeks to slide downwards causing lines between the nose and the mouth (nasolabial folds) and at the corner of the mouth (marionette lines). The collagen loss combined with the sun damage causes laxity and lines on the chest. To combat this aging problem and collagen loss, MD Aesthetica is pleased to offer a new, unprecedented non-surgical treatment called Ultherapy® in our Houston and Woodlands flagship wellness clinics, which uses energy in the form of ultrasound to stimulate your own body’s healing process to generate collagen which is essential to left and tighten with new collagen growth produced from your own amino acids showing visible results in as little as 3 to 6 months.
According to one clinical study, Ultherapy improves skin from the inside out using focused ultrasonic energy to help lift and tighten skin, reduce fine lines and wrinkles on the décolletage (or low neck line area,) and help stimulate the restoration and regeneration of collagen.* Typically, Ultherapy treatments take 30 minutes per area, and require no down time for recovery, making it the ideal lunch time procedure. Many patients report visible lifting and tightening immediately following their first treatment, but Ultherapy continues to lift and tighten loose skin gradually, with full effects resulting in 2 to 3 months.²*

Ultherapy pain : does it hurt?
Most patients don’t experience pain during the Ultherapy procedure, but comfort level varies by individual. Some patients experience mild discomfort when the ultrasound energy is being delivered, stimulating new collagen. Any pain or discomfort is temporary and there is no pain post-treatment.² Your Ultherapy Houston specialist at MD Aesthetica Medspa will work as hard as possible to ensure your experience is as comfortable as possible.
How does Ultherapy work?
Clinical research suggests that Ultherapy utilizes the body’s natural rejuvenation mechanisms to aid in lifting and toning sagging or loose skin, by delivering focused ultrasound energy to deep tissues below the skin’s surface. In theory, the ultrasound energy stimulates the body to produce collagen, the protein responsible for lifting and toning skin. Once collagen production is stimulated, skin may begin to gradually tighten over a span of several months.*
How does collagen affect the aging of skin?
Collagen is the protein responsible for keeping skin tight, elastic, and toned. When we get older, the collagen in our skin begins to break down and our body becomes less effective at producing new collagen. This results in skin becoming less flexible and less able to bounce back. The structure of the skin also weakens, becoming less resistant to gravity’s pull.
How long does an Ultherapy treatment take?
Procedure time depends on the treatment area. Typically, skin tightening to the neck and face takes 60 – 90 minutes, while treatment to the chest can be performed in under 30 minutes.*
Who is the ideal candidate for Ultherapy?
The best way to determine if you are a good candidate for Ultherapy is to schedule a free consultation with your local Ultherapy Houston provider. Typically, Ultherapy is ideal for men and women in their 30’s and older who have mild to moderate skin laxity manifested in lowered brow lines, sagging or loose skin around the jaw or neck, and wrinkles or fine lines on the chest.*
Ultherapy is also popular among younger adults in their 20’s who want to delay the onset of skin laxity.*
What are typical Ultherapy side effects?
Experiences vary, but the vast majority of MD Aesthetica clients, similar to participants in a clinical trial, experience no side effects associated with their Ultherapy treatment. However side effects including redness or flushing, mild swelling, or small areas of bruising or numbness are rare and temporary.³*
Is Ultherapy an Alternative for Eyelid Surgery or blepharoplasty?
According to a study published in the journal of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, Ultherapy is an effective non-surgical treatment for reducing the appearance of aging around the eyes, brow, and eyelids. Ultherapy can lift the brow, which opens the eyes, removes some of the skin on the eyelids, smooths the skin of the lower eyelid, reduces upper eyelid sagging, and smooths out the lines and wrinkles around the eyes, known as crow’s feet.*
Ultherapy results? What to expect following treatment:
As with any cosmetic procedure, results vary per individual, however, in a clinical study, the majority of participants reported seeing some skin lifting and toning and moderate reduction in the appearance of fine lines within the first week of Ultherapy. Within 1 month of treatment the majority of participants reported to continue to see skin lifting and toning. They also noted skin also starts to feel tighter and smoother. Between 3-6 months following treatment, the majority of participants continued to see lifting and toning effects as well as elevated brow lines, less skin sagging, smoother skin texture and more even skin tone.*
How is Ultherapy Different from other skin tightening treatments?
Ultherapy is the only non-invasive treatment cleared by the FDA for lifting skin on the chin, brow, and neck. It is also the only FDA cleared non-invasive treatment for improving wrinkles and fine lines of the décolletage, or lower neck line area.*
Unlike other skin tightening treatments such as Thermage or Venus Freeze, that use radio frequency, lasers, or surgical incisions, Ultherapy uses ultrasonic energy to bypass the skin’s surface, to heat deep tissue layers of the skin for optimal collagen production.
Also, unlike other skin tightening procedures, Ultherapy provides ultrasound imaging, allowing Ultherapy Houston practitioners to see the deep tissues of the treatment area, enhancing the precision, effectiveness and safety of the procedure.
How much does ultherapy cost?
Ultherapy cost in Houston depends on the treatment area and the extent of treatment. During your free consultation, your skin care specialist at MD Aesthetica Medspa will discuss different treatment options and estimate your Ultherapy cost.
