Changes in weight, pregnancy, genetics and age can all effect the appearance of the mid-section to result in excess, sagging skin and loose or separated abdominal muscles. Both men and women can benefit from Abdominoplasty, also known as a Tummy Tuck. In some cases the Abdominoplasty may be combined with Liposuction to remove excess fat as well. In generally, the Tummy Tuck procedure is designed to remove excess skin from the mid-section and tighten the abdominal muscles. The remaining skin is then pulled tight and closed. The incision runs from hip to hip and though the scar will be permanent, Dr. Lyos works hard to make sure it is an inconspicuous as possible and can be easily hidden by underwear or swimwear.

To learn more about this procedure and to find out if it is right for you, schedule a consultation with board certified plastic surgeon Dr. Lyos.

Our abdomen is one of the many parts of the body fat likes to collect. Once fat has made it’s self at home around the midsection, it is often very difficult to get rid of through traditional diet and exercise. Additionally abdominal muscles that have become weak or separated due to pregnancy may need help returning to a normal position. Houston board certified plastic surgeon Dr. Lyso uses abdominoplasty to improve the appearance of of your midsection.

Houston Abdominoplasty, more commonly known as a tummy tuck, is used to correct a protruding abdomen resulting from weak abdominal muscles, weight gain or pregnancy. Using abdominoplasty, Dr. Lyos is able to tighten abdominal muscles and remove excess fatty tissue and skin to improve the body’s contour. Liposuction is commonly used in conjunction with abdominoplasty to produce optimal results.

It is important to note that andominoplasty is not a form of weight loss. Patients who benefit from abdominoplasty are in good health and relatively good shape. Contact our office to schedule your consultation and learn more about how you can benefit from tummy tuck surgery.

Recently, body lifts have become popular procedures for people looking to tone or restructure aspects of their body. For men and women interested in changing the shapes of their bodies, particularly the lower body, Dr. Lyos has found that body lift surgery is increasingly popular. Lower body lift surgery generally results in a smoother skin texture as well as a more youthful, slimmer appearance.

For many, there are specific and particular aspects of the body that they would like to change, which is why various body lift procedures serve as the optimal surgical choice for such specific alterations.

The tummy tuck, and inner and outer thigh lifts are three popular procedures for patients looking to alter their body. The tummy tuck or abdominoplasty is also considered a body lift, and it addresses a sagging abdomen which might result from pregnancy, weight loss, or lack of exercise. Meanwhile, the inner thigh lift is the least involved of the surgeries, and is performed on an outpatient basis.

Over the past decade the practice of liposuction as a surgical procedure has risen in prominence for patients and doctors. The newest procedure, known as tumescent liposculpture – allows Dr. Lyos to remove large volumes of fat in an outpatient procedure. During tumescent liposculpture, the surgeon injects the area with a special solution causing the fatty tissue to tumesce or swell up. The injected solution contains a local anesthetic that numbs the area being treated and temporarily shrinks blood vessels, minimizing blood loss and lessening bruising and swelling. This is a fantastic option for tummy tuck patients who desire to obtain the body they’ve always dreamed of. If a slimmer waste, and flat stomach is what you’re looking for, then Dr. Lyos and his tumescent liposculpture are the right options for you.
